Distribution of Desert Biomes in Australia!!!!
As you see here in this map above the
desert is found in Western Australia, South Australia, Northern Territory,
Queensland and New South Western. Some of the deserts in Australia are Great
Victorian Desert, Great Sandy Desert, Western Desert, Gibson Desert, Little
Sandy Desert, Simpson Desert and Strzelecki Desert. Great Victorian Desert is
the biggest desert in Australia and sixth largest in the world and also made up
of grasslands, salted lakes and sand hills. Great Sandy Desert lies between Rocky
Mountains of Kimberley and Pilbara and it also receives 300mm of rainfall in a
year near Kimberley. Gibson Desert lies in the middle of Lake Disappointment
and Lake MacDonald and is about 155,000 square kilometres.
